Aims & Scope
SPARK! is a practitioner publication focused on the translation of research-to-practice in early childhood education. Articles cover the social, physical, emotional, and intellectual development of children age birth through 3, analyzing issues, trends, and practices from an educational perspective. SPARK! is of interest not only to classroom teachers, child care providers, college and university faculty, and administrators, but also to other professionals in psychology, health care, family relations, and social services dedicated to the care of young children.
SPARK! publishes articles that address important early childhood topics and have a research basis. General articles typically include:
- innovative, research-based teaching strategies
- early childhood theories and research, along with recommended practices
- specific issues affecting young children
- professional stories and observations intended to enhance understanding of research-based practices
- Indicate which CDA or licensing topic the article addresses
