Spark! Innovations in Early Childhood Education: A Research-to-Practice Journal for Educators

About This Journal

SPARK! is dedicated to publishing insightful articles that delve into critical topics in early childhood education, all grounded in research. Each issue features a range of articles that highlight innovative, research-based teaching strategies designed to enhance educational practices in early childhood settings. We explore foundational early childhood theories and current research, offering recommended practices that educators can implement to support young learners effectively.

Our journal also addresses specific issues affecting young children, providing context and solutions rooted in empirical evidence. Additionally, we share professional stories and observations from educators, aiming to deepen understanding of research-based practices and their impact on children's development.

We designed this journal as a teaching tool by aligning content with the Child Development Associate (CDA) competencies and the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Standards of Professional Practice. Each article includes a quiz and discussion questions to support instructional use.

Each article identifies the CDA topic area and is followed by a multiple-choice quiz and discussion questions designed to be used in classes or professional development activities.
