Coherence experiments in a random color center laser system

Abstract
We measured spatial and temporal coherence of stimulated emission from color centers in alumina nanopowder. Spectral quenching, exponential output and increased coherence length above the inversion threshold result from random amplification by point defects. © 2003 Optical Society of America.
