Abstract
The impact of integrating three Central and Eastern European countries (Poland, Hungary, and the Czech and Slovak Federal Republics) into the European Union is examined using a partial equilibrium trade simulation model. This research specifically analyzes markets for beef, pork, and poultry. Particular emphasis is placed on the impact of European integration combined with the Uruguay round agricultural agreement on Central and Eastern Europe, the European Union, the United States, and the rest of the world. © 1997 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
