Abstract
The presentation describes the steps taken to develop a "belonging in math" measure that can be used with elementary-aged school children. Questions examined include: (1) What is belonging? (2) What is belonging in math? (3) Are there additional considerations for diverse students? (4) What are the dimensions of belonging? and (5) What are some sample belonging items?
