Abstract
The primary actors, facilitators, and beneficiaries of HRD are employees, contract workers, and organizations or local units. They make up the final content dimension of the Regional Human Resource Development (Regional HRD) ecosystem in Southeast Asia. Organizations throughout the region use HRD to develop their employees as a way of achieving their organizational missions and adapting to the ever-changing economic, political, and technological landscapes. Similarly, employees and workers pursue development opportunities to increase their workplace knowledge, skills, and mindsets. As communities, countries, and the region as a whole become increasingly interconnected, HRD at this micro dimension is comprised of central actors in the Regional HRD ecosystem. This chapter describes these components of the micro dimension and provides examples of a variety of organizations in Southeast Asia to describe how they utilize HRD and how HRD occurs at this level.
