Abstract
The paper deals with orthonormal 1-ports composed of elements of limited Q-factor and limited accuracy. It was pointed out that the error of the Hilbert transformation realized by such 1-ports may be defined in various ways. Two suggestions have been presented, one in the sense of distance in a space L**2, the second, in the sense of the imperfection measure of a Q-power meter which consists of an orthonormal 1-port, due to that 1-port imperfection. It has been shown that the magnitude and the phase errors of the orthonormal 1-port realization due to the element limited Q-factor and the element limited accuracy depends solely on the derivative of the immittance function for harmonic frequencies. The dependence of these derivatives on some free function coefficients has been presented. Two new orthonormal 1-port immittance functions are introduced for the realization of ″positive″ and ″negative″ Hilbert transformations but with zero at infinity as well.
