Abstract
The time-domain approach to power properties of nonsinusoidal systems is compared with the frequency-domain approach. Despite simple instrumentation, it appears that the time-domain approach does not provide improved methods for determining the source power factor in nonsinusoidal systems. Such methods can be found, however, by applying the frequency-domain approach.
