Abstract
Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents in 60% alcohol extract of Galium aparine L. Methods: The compounds were isolated by column chromatography over silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 coupled with preparative silica gel TLC. Results: Eight compounds were isolated from G. aparine L. which were identified as quercetin (1), luteolin (2), apigenin (3), hesperetin (4), linarin (5), kaempferol-3-neohesperidose (6), tamarixetin-3-rutinoside (7) and hesperidin (8). Conclusion: Compounds 3-7 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
