The Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science prepares graduates for the opportunities and challenges of managing information in the 21st century.

The degree has been fully accredited for over 80 years, and is the only accredited LIS degree in the state of Louisiana.

The program is entirely online and includes specializations in eight professional areas. Although not required, students may elect to specialize in Academic Librarianship, Culture Heritage Resource Management, School Librarianship, Adult Services in Public Libraries, Digital Content Management, Youth Services Librarianship, Archival Studies, or Knowledge Management.

School of Information Studies graduates are currently working as web analysts, systems analysts, researchers, information managers, records managers, archivists and librarians in government agencies, corporations, not-for-profits, museums and libraries in more than 40 states and 20 countries.
