Abstract
PDA calculated via image analysis provides an objective, quantitative measurement of cumulative direct feeding damage from WFT compared to subjectively-assigned quality ratings. The results from the image analysis method were well correlated to thrips density. The image analysis method can be used in nearly any research where arthropod feeding damage results in lesions or localized color changes in plant foliage. © 2006 Kansas Entomological Society.
