Abstract
Fabric mechanical properties such as bending and shearing are critical in determining applicability in apparel. This study reports the bending and shear properties of nonwovens compared to woven and knitted fabrics typically used in apparel. Subjective evaluation of hand is performed by apparel designers to assess their acceptance of nonwovens for specific construction and aesthetic features.
