Abstract
Nymphoides peltata (S.G. Gmel.) Kuntze (Asterales: Menyanthaceae), commonly known as yellow floating heart, is a freshwater aquatic plant with floating leaves. It is a highly invasive aquatic weed that has been introduced into several countries, including Ireland, New Zealand, Sweden, and the United States (Gren et al. 2009; Nault and Mikulyuk 2009). Although N. peltata thrives in temperate climates similar to its native Eurasian/ Mediterranean range, it is also present in subtropical regions of the United States and likely to establish further in those areas (Harms and Nachtrieb 2019).
