Abstract
Electrodeposited multilayer CoNiFeCu/Cu nanowires and nanotubes were fabricated with pulsed applied potential and their giant magnetoresistance (GMR) behavior characterized. The effect of electrolyte concentration on the GMR was investigated. The FeSO4 and CoSO4 concentrations were varied and altered the value of the GMR and the saturation field of the multilayered nanowires. Multilayered nanotubes also exhibited GMR at room temperature, and were influenced by the iron ions in the electrolyte. To the best of our knowledge this is the first demonstration of GMR in a nanotube. copyright The Electrochemical Society.
