Abstract

Among the gamma-ray bursts (GRB) observed by BATSE, we define a sub-class of bursts characterized by fast rise times (<0.5 sec) and a relatively slow decay times. Their time histories exhibit diverse variations. GRB s with such temporal features were selected and divided into shorter time segments. Spectral features were parameterized for each of the time segments using the BATSE Spectral Analysis Software (BSAS) from the large area detector data. The evolution of these parameters during the burst were studied in relation to the other observed variables like the intensity and temporal structure. A possible correlation between the time histories and spectral characteristics is explored.
