Abstract
A recent paper by Eichinger solved for the radial distribution function g(r) and the osmotic pressure for polymer solutions, starting from a linearized hypernetted chain (HNC) equation with the assumption that the force between pairs of molecules is governed by the Flory-Krigbaum potential. It is pointed out here that some of these results can be extended by treating the full HNC equation. Simple analytical expressions for g(r) and for the virial coefficients which are of a much broader range of applicability are derived. © 1981 The American Physical Society.
