Abstract
The analysis of small-capacitance tunnel junctions is complicated by the fact that the connecting leads play a significant role. The most successful approach to the single-junction case utilizes the quantum Langevin equation, a technique pioneered by Cleland, Schmidt, and Clarke [Phys. Rev. B 45, 2950 (1992)]. Here, we apply a generalization of the same method to the double-junction case, obtaining satisfactory agreement with existing experiments. © 1994 The American Physical Society.
