Abstract
A general, detection-based protocol to create |N::O〉 states for use in entanglement-enhanced parameter estimation was presented. The creation of entangled states of large photon number was done using linear optics and photodetectors. The derivation of an asymptotic scaling law was done and the influence of imperfect detector was considered.
