Abstract
The Nilsson mean-field and extended pairing interaction Hamiltonian were investigated for well deformed nuclei. One- and two-body interactions were observed to dominate the dynamics for small values of pairing strength and eigenvalues were easily determined for extended pairing model. The three- and many-body interactions gained importance with increase in pairing interaction. The results from numerical analysis of even-odd mass differences in 154-171Yb isotope show application of extended pairing model in well deformed nuclei.
