Abstract
The modern Mississippi River Delta (MRD) is formed where the river empties into the Northern Gulf of Mexico in South Louisiana, United States. Over the past 7,000 years, the Mississippi River (MR) made six major course changes and deposited sediment over 400 km of the previous shoreline from approximately latitude 88°57″ to 91°50″ W.
