Abstract
Welding and Bonding technology is a complex field of practical and applied areas of structural joining in several crucial industry sectors; and in the future this will remain as such, until competitive new technology arrives as a cheaper alternative. A very high level of research is possible and ongoing for joining critically important components. Weldpool ‘convection’ should be one of the most important research areas, where new research outcome will push forward to the forefront of new and challenging areas, since at present, modeling has so far been concentrated in weld pool ‘conduction’ only, and a very few research have been available in the open literatures on ‘convention’ aspects of welding and joining. Also, exciting bonding technologies are at the beginning level and new research has now been attempted but not exhausted all possibilities.
