Abstract
This Paper deals with an imperfect production system the defective items are produced with finished goods as well. Rework process is necessary to convert those defectives into finished goods. As the imperfection of the rework process some scrap is produced during rework process. Considering this situation, the inventory modes are developed for a single stage production process wherein defectives items are reworked and scrap is detected and discarded during rework process. A process where rework is done within the cycle is considered here. Also, rework is detected before, during and after the rework process. Based on these detection procedures, the total cost functions are developed to find the optimum order quantity. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate these models.
