Abstract
Detailed mass transfer measurements have been made in a rotating, two-pass square duct designed to simulate the first two passes of an internal turbine- blade -coolant channel. These measurements have been obtained using the naphthalene sublimation technique. Smooth wall results have been obtained for Reynolds numbers (Re) between 5,000 and 30,000 and rotation numbers (Ro) that satisfy ReRo = 10,000. Ribbed wall results are presented for the parameters above with a rib height to hydraulic diameter ratio fixed at 0.1 and a rib pitch to rib height ratio of 10.5.
