Abstract
The friction characteristic of a rubber coating undergoing fretting-like oscillatory motion against a steel slider is experimentally investigated. The variation of friction coefficient and rubber coating life as a function of load, velocity and displacement amplitude are investigated. Results of experiments on the effect of load, velocity and displacement amplitude on the coating life are presented. © 2004 Published by Elsevier B.V.
