Abstract
A series of experiments is carried out on a greaselubricated, heavy loaded journal bearing undergoing oscillatory motion to examine its thermal field. The history of temperature measurement and the friction coefficient are monitored. The finite element method is employed using ANSYS to simulate the temperature history with input of the friction coefficient result, Experiment and simulation show good agreement.
