Abstract
We apply some hypergeometric evaluation identities, including a strange valuation of Gosper, to prove several supercongruences related to special valuations of truncated hypergeometric series. In particular, we prove a conjecture of van Hamme. © 2011 by Pacific Journal of Mathematics.
