Optimal control of neutral variational problems

Abstract

This paper sketches recent results obtained in the optimal control of neutral variational problems. The proof techniques rely on recent advances in nonsmooth and variational analysis. In particular, theorems are given on the existence of solutions, the Clarke decoupling technique, the maximum principle, aud nonsmooth necessary conditions to a generalized Bolza problem of neutral type.
