Publishing Ethics
STATEMENT ON PUBLISHING ETHICS FOR JOURNAL OF STOCHASTIC ANALYSIS
Journal of Stochastic Analysis (JOSA) is an online open access journal that aims to present original research papers of high quality in stochastic analysis (both theory and applications) and emphasizes the global development of the scientific community. The journal welcomes articles of interdisciplinary nature. There are no publication charges for JOSA authors. JOSA authors retain copyright to their articles. Expository articles of interest will occasionally be published. JOSA is indexed in Mathematical Reviews (MathSciNet) and SCOPUS.
JOSA Editors' Responsibilities: JOSA Editors have complete responsibility for decisions regarding publication in JOSA, basing their publication decisions on the quality of submitted papers, keeping decisions as free from bias as possible and as timely as possible. If any JOSA Editors have a conflict of interest regarding a submitted paper, they will request another member of the Editorial Board to edit that submission. Submitted papers are held confidential prior to publication in JOSA. Editors do not use in their own scholarly publications any material that is not publicly available and whose knowledge they have only through any papers submitted to JOSA. Corrections to papers published in JOSA will be posted in a timely way when needed and in consultation with the authors of the papers. Retractions will be made in a timely way when needed, such as in cases of plagiarism, simultaneous submission at other journals, copyright violation, or other misconduct. In matters of publishing ethics, the COPE Core Practices, and by other COPE resources provide guidance for JOSA Editors.
JOSA Reviewers' Responsibilities: JOSA Reviewers work in a single-blind peer review system, in which JOSA Authors do not know Reviewers' identities. JOSA Reviewers will strive to make timely decisions based on the quality of submitted papers. If a JOSA Reviewer has a conflict of interest regarding a submitted paper under review, that Reviewer will report this to the Managing Editor. Reviewers keep confidential all material obtained from JOSA Editors pertaining to submitted papers. Reviewers do not use in their own scholarly publications any material that is not publicly available and whose knowledge they have only through any papers submitted to JOSA.
JOSA Authors' Responsibilities: JOSA Authors do not submit a paper to JOSA unless they have a copyright for that paper, which normally occurs by having written the paper themselves. JOSA Authors retain copyright to their paper after publication. JOSA Authors do not submit the same paper at two journals simultaneously. A paper should not be submitted to two different Editors. If a paper is submitted to JOSA that has significant material in common with a paper was earlier rejected by JOSA then the authors must clearly state this during submission. JOSA Authors report their sources of funding and any conflicts of interest. Authors agree to participate in JOSA’s single-blind peer review process. Upon acceptance of a submitted paper, JOSA Authors sign an agreement giving JOSA Editors permission to publish this paper. If JOSA Authors find significant errors in a published paper, the Authors report this to JOSA Editors and work with JOSA Editors in making corrections or retracting a published paper. Authors have the right to appeal JOSA Editors' publication decisions and their appeal process will adhere to the COPE Core Practices and other COPE resources. JOSA Editors nevertheless retain full authority and responsibility for decisions regarding publication in JOSA.
JOSA is published on behalf of JOSA Editors by LSU Digital Commons (https://digitalcommons.lsu.edu/), which is managed by Louisiana State University Libraries and the Louisiana State University Office of Research and Economic Development.
JOSA Publishers' Responsibilities: The Digital Commons platform hosts JOSA, providing multiple backups. The publisher assigns Digital Object Identifiers to JOSA articles and registers these with CrossRef.
