Abstract
Silence After consists of imagined dystopian landscapes and stylized interpretations of natural and industrial elements throughout Louisiana contemplating the temporary nature of my existence. An end implies instability as all things unstable are temporary. Through prints and drawings, the imagined landscapes contain natural structures residing on man-made stilts in a violent overgrowth or flooded landscape to prolong their existence and resist the world around them. The horizons are littered with industrial smokestacks exhausting fumes into the sky as mutated animals and figures are consumed by roots and trees. Silence After reflects on existentialist writings by Peter Zapffe and Robert Ernst, examining the effects we as human beings have on our environment, the burden of consciousness, and death
