Abstract
Disclosure: A Novella and Other Stories is a collection of linked stories that follow Jonah Jacobs, a gay millennial in New Orleans, before and after his HIV diagnosis. The stories here touch on themes of chosen family, community, and connection, while shedding light on the generational legacy of the AIDS crisis and reflecting on the ways we construct a self through narrative. By turns hilarious and heart wrenching, Disclosure blends humor and pathos to offer a humane portrait of what it’s like to live with HIV in the contemporary urban South.
