Abstract
“Ozark” is a hybrid poetry and prose manuscript that explores the tenuous subjective relationship between person and place. This place in particular is the Ozarks, which denotes the mountainous region covering Missouri and Arkansas, the two Midwestern states of the author’s place of birth, inspiration, and longing. The geographical dimensions of this space become the map for the page, yielding a concordance of various forms to grapple with the complicated issues of intersectional identities such as class and race, privilege, and the power of language and meaning making.
