Abstract
In one day, Henry Heartsfield’s dull, small town Midwestern life is torn apart. In one day, the true horrors of Henry’s school life and home life become matters of fact. In one day, Henry must learn to take hold of his own life’s course, to accept destruction without succumbing to it, and to move away from a community mindset of antagonism, drugs, and insecurity and face the possibility that life can be enjoyed. On the third day, the Earth was made to bear fruit.
