Abstract
This is a novel about a young man’s attempt to define himself against a backdrop of astonishing rural poverty and family dysfunction. When he is the victim of a workplace accident, it transforms his world and gives him an understanding of his place in his family, his society, and America.

Secure the entire work for patent and/or proprietary purposes for a period of one year.
