Abstract
Over the years the field of sedimentology has become subdivided into various specialities, two of the largest groups being clastic rocks and carbonates. This compartmentilization has led to the ignorance of important facies changes laterally and through time. The aim of the book is to emphasize that clastic and carbonate sedimentation are not separate but part of a continuum: the 11 papers are abstracted separately. -after Editors
