Abstract
The elastic constants and acoustic velocities of MgSiO perovskite, the most abundant mineral of the earth's lower mantle (LM), were discussed. Earth model indicated that the top of the LM behaved as typical aggregate of pyrolitic composition. The elastic constants were used to predict acoustic velocity of LM mineral aggregates. Results show that the values of the predicted properties were independent of the order used in the finite strain expansion of the free energy. s
