Abstract

This communication examines the translation and adaptation of Don Quixote in the United States, focusing on editions in Spanish, English, and Spanglish. It highlights Ilan Stavans’ two graphic novels (2018), analyzing them in relation to the annotated edition by Francisco Sales (1836), a professor at Harvard College at the time, recognized as the first Spanish edition of Don Quixote published in the United States.
