Abstract
We develop a 3D mesh completion system for archaeological data. Topology inconsistency (such as local self-intersections) and holes on triangle meshes are detected and repaired via a dynamic programming paradigm. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our methodology on several datasets. The developed system is used for archaeological and forensic data completion. It serves as an important preprocessing step for many subsequent data analysis/processing tasks of forensic anthropologists. ©2010 IEEE.
