Abstract
Some results of a comparative study on methods of reactive power compensation and suppression of load-generated harmonics are presented. The effectiveness of various compensating and filtering (Co-Fi) circuits for reactive power compensation and for reducing harmonic distortion and the harmonic interference index is compared. The comparison is made under the assumption that the Co-Fi circuits are used for suppression harmonics generated by a 6- and 12-pulse, 3-phase, controlled AC/DC converter.
