Abstract
A reliability analysis technique for MINs (multistage interconnection networks) is discussed. The technique obtains a reliability expression in two steps. Step 1 enumerates paths that are responsible for maintaining one-to-one, one-to-many, or many-to-many connections in a MIN. Step 2 modifies the path information into an equivalent reliability expression. For both step methods techniques that are straightforward, general, and efficient are presented. Examples are used to illustrate the underlying concepts.
