Abstract

Resin 3D printing is widely used to produce highly detailed and accurate parts, making it a critical manufacturing tool for research facilities such as the Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center (AGGRC). Despite its advantages, post-processing remains a major bottleneck. Current workflows rely on manual, multistep procedures involving washing, rinsing, drying, and curing printed parts, which are time-consuming, inconsistent, and difficult to standardize. In addition, AGGRC lacks an efficient method for filtering and replacing contaminated isopropyl alcohol (IPA), further increasing downtime and material waste.

To address these challenges, we designed ResiClean, an autonomous, all-in-one post-processing system that integrates washing, drying, curing, and IPA filtration into a single enclosed unit. The system is designed to accommodate multiple build-plate sizes and attachment styles while utilizing IPA-compatible materials to ensure chemical resistance and durability. Automated sequencing, safety interlocks, and modular subsystems improve reliability, reduce user handling, and enhance repeatability. ResiClean aims to streamline post-processing operations, minimize variability, and improve overall efficiency for resin-based additive manufacturing in research environments.
