Abstract
A ferroelectric side-chain polymer with a siloxane backbone and its constituent monomer have been prepared. The film forming properties at the air-water interface are described in terms of temperature dependence, stability, and hysteresis behavior. The ability to form Langmuir-Blodgett mono- or multilayers with different substrates was also investigated. The LB layers were characterized by use of polarized UV-vis, FTIR, and SAXS. © 1992.
