Abstract
Fluorescent metabolites of cancer cells have been studied using video-fluorormetry and high pressure liquid chromatography. A distinction between the cancerous and non-cancerous cells studied has been made based on the two dimensional fluorescent spectra of growth media supernatants. The fluorophore responsible for the distinct spectral properties has been tentatively identified as pterin-6-carboxylic acid based on chromatographic retention data. © 1982, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
