Abstract
An unintensified photodiode array based multichannel fluorescence detector has been developed for use in high-performance liquid chromatography. The detector uses a low wattage xenon capillary flashlamp as an excitation source suppłying high-intensity radiation throughout the UV and visible region. Fluorescence emission is monitored over a 250-nm range, providing on-line spectral information of chromatographic effluent. Linear dynamic range covers at least 3 orders of magnitude, with detection limits In the low nanogram range for several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. © 1990, American Chemical Society.
