LC-MS analysis of the manganese-stabilizing proteins associated with photosystem II

Abstract

The LC-MS method was used for the analysis of the manganese-stabilizing proteins (MSP) associated with Photosystem II. The MSPs were modified with glycine methyl ester (GME) both in the presence and absence of other two extrinsic proteins in plants. The native and modified MSP was digested with the protease V8 and analyzed by LC-MS. A mass shift of 72.05 Da was observed where there was modification due to addition of GME.
