Abstract
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been known as the most effective method for airflow analyses, but its complexity has been a barrier to dissemination in the building industry. Although, there have been continuous efforts to simplify the simulation process and develop more user-friendly CFD tools for novice users with reduced complexity, utilizing the tools without understanding the fundamental knowledge may bring about misleading results. The purpose of the present study is to help novice users understand the configuration process of building simulations using CFD by reviewing the fundamental concepts and proposing a framework for a simulation process in interaction with the reviewed concepts.
