Abstract
Three patients developed hemorrhages between their corneal grafts and retrocorneal membranes while having minor mechanical manipulations of their transplants. One hemorrhage occurred during suture removal and the other two while the intraocular pressure was being measured. Each graft was thickened and substantially vascularized. The blood persisted in the interface for prolonged periods. Subsequent histopathological examination of one of the grafts revealed that hemorrhage had occurred between Descemet membrane of the graft and retrocorneal membrane. © 1974, American Medical Association.
