Abstract
Systemic infections of the red swamp crawfish Procambarus clarkii with Vibrio mi-micus and V. cholerae are described. Infections are favored by elevated temperatures and low dissolved oxygen. Mortality rates between 5 and 25% were observed, and affected crawfish were lethargic but exhibited no gross clinical signs. Serotyping of IS bacterial isolates from IS separate cases indicated that a single serotype was involved. © by the American Fisheries Society 1991.
