Abstract

A methodology of resource allocation is presented, combining goal programming and input-output analysis to provide a solution to the problem of multiple use planning on public forests. The model allows managers to specify the exact goal level of each management activity, to experiment with varying degrees of management intensity, to explore the outcome of different management priority assignments, and to determine the trade-off between management activities. An application is described. -Authors
