Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents of Alternan theraphilox eroid es. METHODS: The chemical components were isolated by solvent extrations and column chromatography. The chemical structures were identified on the basis of physicochemical constants and spectral data (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS, etc.). RESULTS: Seven compounds were isolated and identified from the chloroform and ethyl acetate sections:chikusetsusaponin- IVa(I), calenduloside E(II), chrysophenol-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (III), rhaponticin(IV), α-spinastcrol(V), β-sitosterol(VI), lacceroic acid (VII). CONCLUSION: I, III and IV are isolated from Alternan theraphilox eroid es for the first time.
