Abstract
Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents in the n-butanol extract of Rannunculus chinensis Bunge. Methods: The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 coupled with preparative silica gel TLC. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data. Results: Nine compounds were isolated from this extract and their structures were identified as p-hydroxybenzoic acid(1), caffeic acid (2), tachioside (3), osthole (4), anthraquinone (5), emodin (6), 1,7-dihydroxy-6-methoxy-2-methylanthraquinone (7), β-stigmasterol(8)and ursolic acid(9). Conclusion: Compounds 3,4,5,7 were obtained from this plant for the first time.
